Did you know the first Saturday of every month is Play Outside Day? There are so many great outdoor spaces to explore so we've put our top playground picks together just for you. Kids will love exploring and learning about nature with so many great places to discover right on your doorstep.

Sydney: Casula Parklands, Western Sydney
This newly opened inclusive playspace includes climbing equipment and tunnels, a flying fox, a dog park, a toddler playground and much more. For something closer to the city, the Ian Potter Children’s Wild Play Garden in Centennial Parklands is great in sunny weather.

Melbourne: Yarra Bend Park, Kew
Melbourne’s biggest bushland park has so much to see and do, from cycling trails to nature walks, sporting greens and paddle boats. Stop at the cafe for lunch, see the families of flying foxes that live in the trees, or pop over to the  Farm nearby.

Brisbane: Carindale Recreation Reserve, Carindale
Located in the network of parklands along Bulimba Creek, this tree-lined playground has something for all ages, with rocket themed play equipment, sandpits, climbing ropes, cycling tracks, grassy ovals and shady spots for picnics.

Hobart: Long Beach Reserve, Sandy Bay
Kids of all ages will love the seaside playground at Long Beach Reserve, with its grassy sporting fields and nautical themed play equipment and sandpits. BBQ spots and covered seating nearby are perfect for a picnic lunch.

Adelaide: Wittunga Botanic Garden Playspace, Eden Hills
This brand new accessible playspace helps kids learn about nature and Aboriginal culture while they’re having fun! Features include swings, climbing frames, mazes, an interactive ‘dry billabong’ and open green spaces for sports.

Canberra: Fadden Pines, Tuggeranong Park
Glebe Park might be the best known CBD playspace for kids, but drive out a bit further to Fadden Pines and you’ll have 41 hectares of fun for kids to run and play freely. There are green spaces, a picnic area and an adventure playground, as well as a skate park for older kids.

Perth: Montario Quarter Playground, Shenton Park
For a truly magical day of play, visit the Montario Quarter playground. Kids can clamber on the fantasy themed play equipment and toadstools, run around in the park and have a game of basketball or ping pong on the courts. There is also an outdoor gym for teens and adults, as well as a lovely covered BBQ area.

Wherever you go, get ready to enjoy the great outdoors!
