Autumn leaves are soon to be falling, it’s time to get your knits out, pack the car up and get out to enjoy the colour of the most beautiful season of them all. Whether you want to day trip, pitch a tent or book a cabin, get out amongst it and enjoy the colour and beauty of these great Australian regions.
Victoria- The colours of Autumn are at their best in the areas near Bright, Beechworth, and Yackandandah. Discover this magnificent region by heading to the High Country Harvest Festival on from May 4th to the 20th. Check out the regions fantastic heritage as a gold rush destination whilst sampling from the many breweries, vineyards and high tea destinations.
New South Wales- Bowral and Moidart are simply stunning in Autumn and the region has much to offer visitors. Sports fans can head to Bowral where The Donald Bradman’s museum will surely delight the cricket fans, whilst shoppers should head to the Bong Bong Street for great local art, craft, and food. If you’re up for a little adventure, go underground to Wombeyan Caves for a different take on autumn colour.
Queenslanders- Bribie Island. Enjoy the magnificent coastline and the Bribie Island National Park. Only 68 kilometres north of Brisbane and you can get as much natural beauty as you can possibly cope with. Fishing, bird watching or simply enjoying a dip in one of the beautiful beaches, everyone will enjoy the magnificent Bribie Island.
Western Australia- Who can seriously go past Margaret River in Autumn? Experience the Championship tour vibes at the World Surf Leagues Margaret River Pro April 11th-22nd 2018. Or if you want part of the action, take the family to the Valley of the Giants Tree Top walk for a look at nature from the tree tops.
Tasmanians should be chasing waterfalls in Mount Field National Park. Take an easy drive from Hobart or book yourself a cosy cabin. Check out Tarn Shelf lookout for magnificent views, hike to Horseshoe falls or Russell falls before retiring to an open fire and a glass of the regions finest.
South Australia- Experience rich Indigenous culture only 2.5 hours from Adelaide at Point Pearce and Innes National park and York Peninsula. Visit coastal Yorke Peninsula on Adjahdura land or explore "outbush" - between the coast and the Outback through Ngadjuri country with a guided tour run by traditional owners of the land Adjahdura people.
